Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Benchmark Registry processes information when you visit benchmarkregistry.org or contact us. “Benchmark Registry,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of this website.

Information we process

No user accounts. Benchmark Registry does not offer user accounts, public profiles, comments, or account-based personalization. You may browse and search the public registry without giving us your name or contact details.

Technical information. When you access the website, our hosting provider may automatically process information needed to deliver, maintain, and secure the service. This may include your IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, requested pages, referring page, request date and time, and diagnostic or security logs.

Abuse prevention. When you submit feedback or attempt to access the administrative review area, the server creates a keyed, pseudonymous fingerprint from your IP address for rate limiting. The registry does not store the raw IP address in its rate-limit table, and inactive fingerprints are removed after 24 hours.

Information you send us. If you use the feedback and corrections form or otherwise contact us, we process the contents of your message, any record identifier or supporting source you provide, and your email address if you voluntarily provide one. An email address is not required to submit feedback.

Analytics and cookies

Benchmark Registry uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics service. It processes aggregated page-view and visit metrics, such as the page visited, referrer, approximate country or region, and device or browser type, without using tracking cookies or building an individual visitor profile. We do not use advertising trackers. The website may also generate ordinary infrastructure and security logs as described above. If our analytics practices materially change, we will update this policy.

Retention

We retain feedback and correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to review or resolve the submission, maintain an appropriate record, resolve disputes, or comply with law. Inactive rate-limit fingerprints are removed after 24 hours. Infrastructure and security logs are retained according to Vercel’s applicable retention practices. We do not set a more specific infrastructure-log period and will not represent one where it is not known to us.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information. No internet transmission, hosting platform, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to be informed about processing; access or correct personal information; object to processing; request erasure or blocking; obtain data portability where applicable; be indemnified for damages as provided by law; and lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.
